Dr. Ankur Thummar is a highly skilled interventional cardiologist with advanced expertise in both adult and paediatric cardiac interventions. He completed his MD in Internal Medicine from B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, and pursued his DM in Cardiology from the renowned K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai—one of India’s highest-volume and most prestigious cardiology centres.

With over 15 years of dedicated cardiology experience, Dr. Thummar has performed a wide range of complex cardiac procedures, including PTCA (primary angioplasty, left main interventions, CTO and bifurcation stenting), congenital heart disease interventions (ASD, VSD, PDA device closures), valvuloplasties (BMV, BPV), pacemaker and AICD implantation, and CRT/CRT-D therapies. He has also managed rare and challenging cases such as coronary cameral fistulae, RSOV device closure, HOCM septal ablation/coiling, and IVUS/OCT-guided complex angioplasties.

Beyond interventional cardiology, he is proficient in non-invasive diagnostics including 2D/3D echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, stress testing, stress echo, Holter monitoring, and HUTT. Dr. Thummar has an impressive academic record with national and international publications in leading cardiology journals.

He currently serves as a full-time Interventional Cardiologist at Sterling Hospital, Rajkot, supported by world-class facilities including dual cath labs, advanced FFR and IVUS technology, a multidisciplinary cardiac team, and 24×7 emergency and in-house diagnostic services.
